Lostprophets guitarist thanks fans for support after Ian Watkins admits child sex offences

Lostprophets guitarist Lee Gaze has expressed his relief after a child sex court case featuring former bandmate Ian Watkins ended quickly.

As previously reported, the music world was left in shock yesterday (November 26) after the 36-year-old Welsh vocalist pleaded guilty to a string of child sex charges in court in Cardiff.

Two of the charges related to the singer attempting to rape a baby.

Guitarist Gaze - whose band split earlier this year following the charges - said on Twitter after the admissions:

"That was over quick. Thank f*ck."

He later added: "Thanks for the kind words. At least there is closure now."

However, the tweets appear to have now been deleted, with Gaze simply retweeting a headline about the guilty verdicts.

Watkins and two female co-defendants, who also plead guilty to child sex offences, will be sentenced on December 18.
