Katy Perry and Arctic Monkeys confirmed for BRITs 2014 performances

The first performers for the upcoming 2014 BRIT Awards have been confirmed this morning (November 28) and it's set to be an exciting event.

The ceremony is due to be held on February 19 at London's O2 Arena and will see live sets from the likes of Arctic Monkeys and 'Roar' superstar Katy Perry. James Corden (pictured below) is set to return as the event's host and designer Philip Treacy has created the official statue for next year's BRITs.

This marks Perry's first performance at the BRIT Awards and she issued a statement on the exciting news, in which she revealed her anticipation for the night: "The BRITs has always showcased the music that I love and am influenced by. It's an honour to play at such a prestigious event where musicality shines at its brightest."

Tickets for the 2014 BRIT Awards will go on sale at 10am GMT this morning, November 28.

The Arctic Monkeys, meanwhile, have just confirmed details of two headlining concerts that will take place in London's Finsbury Park next year and Perry will bring her 'Prismatic' tour to the UK in May
