Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Bastille top Spotify 2013 streaming chart

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' 'Can't Hold Us' was the most streamed track on Spotify in 2013.

Bastille's 'Pompeii' meanwhile was the UK's favourite track on the streaming service this year.

The news was revealed by Spotify as they look back on the last twelve months.

Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' was the second most popular song worldwide amongst Spotify's 24 million users, whilst Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 'Thrift Shop' is third.

Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' was the fourth most streamed track globally and Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive' was fifth.

In the UK meanwhile, 'Get Lucky' follows Bastille at No.2, whilst Passenger's 'Let Her Go' was the third most popular song.

Other names on the UK list include The Lumineers and Naughty Boy.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' manager Zach Quillen meanwhile commented on the data:

"Spotify has proven to be a powerful platform for both sharing and experiencing music. We value its ability to reach new, curious listeners by encouraging the sort of word-of-mouth marketing that drove 'The Heist' from day one."
