Psy and Miley Cyrus have reigned supreme in a list of the year's top trending videos on YouTube.

The promo clip for the South Korean's hit track 'Gentlemen' has topped the chart after being released in April.

Its official video, at the time of writing, has racked up almost 600m views on the streaming website.

In second and third place on YouTube's top trending videos of 2013 list is Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' and 'We Can't Stop' respectively.

Katy Perry's 'Roar' clip is at No.4 whilst P!nk's 'Just Give Me A Reason' is No.5.

Whilst Psy's 'Gentleman' may have topped the list, he has a long way to go to match the success of his previous video for 'Gangnam Style'.

It has amassed a breathtaking 1.8 billion views on YouTube since being added in July 2012.
