Daft Punk mistakenly listed for London gig

Fans of superstar electro duo Daft Punk had their hopes for seeing the band live simultaneously stoked and dashed when it was incorrectly reported that they would be playing in London in 2014.

Bandsintown – a gig listing website and app – announced that “Daft Punk” would be appearing at London venue Koko on April 4 in an email newsletter on December 13 (see image below).

However, since the announcement from Bandsintown it has now been revealed that the Koko date will be a Daft Punk tribute event where a group called Introducing will be playing the electronic dance record ‘Discovery’ live.

The ‘Get Lucky’ hitmakers are yet to perform live since the release of their ‘Random Access Memories’ album in May 2013.

Daft Punk told Australian radio station Triple J earlier this year that they have no plans to tour in order to promote their latest LP, saying:

“We spent five years working on this record. That’s really the first step by releasing it is we’d like to have people experience the record as the focal point.”
