Ringo Starr records new song for Powerpuff Girls cartoon special

Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is to make a guest appearance in an upcoming episode of ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ and will also be recording a new song to mark the cartoon’s 15th anniversary.

Starr will be providing the voice for a character called Fibonacco Sequins as part of a one-off special of the American show.

Time magazine have reported that Ringo’s character is named after mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci who came up with a series of numbers known as the Fibonacci Sequence.

The episode the ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ star is taking part in is titled ‘Dance Pantsed’ and will be aired on January 20 on Cartoon Network.

As well as featuring in the new episode, Ringo Starr has also recorded a new song called ‘I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl’.

‘The Powerpuff Girls’ follows the adventures of three young girls with superhero powers and first began in 1998. The show previously paid homage to The Beatles in the episode ‘Meet The Beat Alls’.
