Justin Bieber tells 'beloved' fans: 'I'm officially retiring'

Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber appears to have announced his retirement on Twitter. 

The 'As Long As You Love Me' superstar teased plans to bow out of the spotlight earlier this month after telling an American radio station that he's tired of his personal life being the focus, and has now seemingly confirmed the decision in a series of public posts made on Christmas Day:

"My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring. The media talks a lot about me.They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle."

He returned to the social networking site shortly after posting the message and added: "Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas I'M HERE FOREVER."

Meanwhile, Bieber's new movie 'Believe' was released in theatres across America yesterday and he told his followers that this week will be one that's full of surprises: "Going to surprise a lot of people this week. #BelieveMovie." Listen to the official audio of Bieber's 'Flatline' below:
