Billy Ray Cyrus records 'hip-hop' version of 'Achy Breaky Heart'

The father of Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray, has revealed that he recently reworked his 1992 hit 'Achy Breaky Heart' in an unexpected style.

The track peaked at No.3 and No.4 when it was released back in '92 in the UK and USA respectively, but it has now been teased that a hip-hop version has been recorded.

U.S. chat show host Larry King shared a revealing tweet on December 31 in which he explained that Cyrus told him the exciting news himself:

"Just spoke with @billyraycyrus on the phone - he's recorded a hip-hop version of 'Achy Breaky Heart' - he's excited about it & so am I!"

Back in September, Cyrus opened up about his daughter Miley and her latest reinvention, and explained that she is a 'true artist': "Miley harnessed into something very special. She's just Miley. She's an artist, she's real. I think that's what's happened over the years, Miley has been reinventing her sound. She's evolving as an artist herself. I think that it's all of what everyone is calling controversy now. That's still my Miley."
