Lykke Li on her new album: 'I really feel like I've found my voice'

'I'll Follow Rivers' songstress Lykke Li has opened up about her forthcoming third album, which she sees as the finishing of a trilogy.

Speaking to the NME magazine about the project, which will be the follow up to her 2011 offering 'Wounded Rhymes', she confessed that it will be the concluding of a chapter:

"I see my albums as a trilogy, with 'Youth Novels' as the first one and hopefully this one as the last in this chapter."

Referring to her new record, which doesn't yet have a title, she added that it was inpsired by a recent romantic break-up and it's essentially about the female condition: "It's always about me and the guilt and the shame and the hurt and the pride and the confusion of being a woman."

Lykke Li also admitted that this new album will establish her position within the music industry: "I always feel like I've been slightly misunderstood. As a woman you get judged for appearances or things like that I don't really care about. If anything I want to be seen as a singer-songwriter rather than a pop artist. I really feel like I've found my voice."
