Madonna, Macklemore and Queen Latifah marry couples at Grammys

Madonna and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's performance at this year's Grammys oversaw a number of apparent marriages live on TV.

The two acts performed alongside Queen Latifah, Mary Lambert and Trombone Shorty at last night's (January 26) awards ceremony as they celebrated equal marriage.

Latifah acted as an officiant as she gestured towards 33 couples of different sexual orientations and beliefs. She said: "They have chosen this moment to celebrate their vows with us here in Los Angeles."

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis kicked off the performance with their track 'Same Love', with Lewis's sister Laura and her boyfriend one of many couples who exchanged vows during the song.

Lewis said pre-show that the slot was about the "ultimate statement of equality, that all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing".
