Madonna says 'Rebel Heart' title reflects 'two sides' of her personality

Madonna has opened up on the meaning behind her new album title.

The singer released her latest effort 'Rebel Heart' in the UK on Monday (March 9).

Speaking to Italian TV's Che Tempo Che Fa, the US star said that the name highlights the split nature of her personality.

Madonna said: "Let me explain the title 'Rebel Heart' because there are two very strong sides of my personality: there's the rebellious side, the provocateur, the worrywart, the fear fighter and there's the romantic side, the one of me that makes me believe in true love.

"The album is an illustration and an expression of both sides of me."

Madonna's new album 'Rebel Heart' meanwhile should comfortably top the UK chart this weekend.

It has been outselling its nearest rival by three to one.
