Madonna's 'Rebel Heart' lands at No.2 in the US

Madonna's new album has failed to reached No.1 in the US.

The singer released her latest effort 'Rebel Heart' across the world recently.

Billboard have confirmed that it sold a total of 121,000 units in its first week in the US.

This, however, wasn't enough to beat the Empire soundtrack in the battle at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

The soundtrack bagged 130,000 sales in the US to land at No.1.

The last Madonna record to not hit No.1 in the US was 1998's 'Ray of Light', which peaked at No.2.

'Rebel Heart' similarly reached No.2 in the UK last week.

It reached No.1 in countries such as Australia, Germany and the Netherlands.
