Madonna hacker given 14 months in prison

A hacker who stole and disseminated unreleased music made by Madonna has been sentenced to 14 months in prison.

The singer's plans for 2015 album 'Rebel Heart' were thrown into disarray last year when a number of new tracks emerged online out of the blue.

Aspiring Israeli singer Adi Ledermam was arrested earlier this year after confessing to hacking into the singer's hardware and releasing the tunes.

The Tel Aviv man, who is in his late 30s, has now been given 14 months in prison and a fine of about $3,900 (£2,575).

Writing online after the hacking, Madonna said she felt "violated as a human and an artist".

The investigation into the leak was co-ordinated by the FBI.
