Madonna nominated for Songwriters Hall Of Fame induction

Madonna is among the nominees for 2016's Songwriters Hall Of Fame induction.

The singer is joined by the likes of Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison and Gloria Estefan on the list of potential inductees.

Also in contention are Blondie, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Sly Stone, the Isley Brothers and Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards.

Berry Gordy, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds and Max Martin are nominated as non-performers.

They're joined by the likes of Michael McDonald, Steve Miller, Teddy Riley, Chip Taylor and Rod Temperton.

Hall of Fame members have until December 11 to vote, with the induction ceremony taking place in New York City on June 9.

Those inducted last year included Cyndi Lauper, Linda Perry and Toby Keith.
