The trailer for 'W.E.', Madonna's second time sitting in the director's chair, has been released.

The romantic drama won't be released until early 2012 but the trailer is now circulating in cinemas and n television.

'W.E.' stars James D'Arcy and Andrea Riseborough as King Edward VIII and his lover Wallis Simpson. The film follows the story of when the monarch abdicated his throne in 1936 to marry the twice-divorced American.

Madonna previously had a directing credit for 2008's 'Filth and Wisdom', which followed a Ukranian gypsy living in London.  

'W.E.' has already appeared at film festivals in London, Toronto and Venice in the past few months.
