Madonna is said to have cried whilst at the New York premiere of her film 'W.E.'.

The New York Post reports that the singer broke down whilst introducing the film, which marks her directorial debut.

It seems a mixture of exhaustion from rehearsing for her upcoming Super Bowl appearance and heavy emotions relating to her late mother caused the Queen of Pop to shed the tears. She is reported to have said:

"I'm sorry if I cry. I'm just so exhausted from Super Bowl rehearsals. I'm not usually a very sentimental person. Don't hold it against me."

She then thanked her mother, who passed away from cancer when Madonna was young, for giving her life. She added:

"This movie is about the journey of a woman’s soul. I want to thank my mother for giving me my life."
