FEBRUARY FESTIVAL AT THE PHEASANTRY (Full info below)
Monday February 8th Tickets £15 Elaine Delmar sings the Great American Gershwin & Porter Songbooks
Elaine Delmar has long been established as a singer of the very highest calibre - with the voice, looks and personality that have captivated world-wide audiences. She is equally at home, whether entertaining a concert audience, or performing in the more intimate cabaret/small theatre setting like The Pheasantry. Elaine has been the star vocalist in Let’s Do It, saluting the music of Cole Porter and By George, It’s Gershwin, a celebration. She was awarded best vocalist in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards and is accompanied on piano by the legendary Brian Dee
"One of the ageless, evergreen singing stars that we have… as beautiful and talented as ever… she’s marvellous!” - Michael Parkinson
Tuesday February 9th Tickets £15 Sue Richardson - "Too Cool", with Karen Sharp
Sue Richardson presents the most famous standards, compositions and works inspired by the life of Chet Baker, a unique & influential musician in the 1950's and three subsequent decades, as well as performing songs associated with him. Too Cool is a most entertaining show that has delighted audiences across the UK.
Sue plays swinging jazz trumpet, with a remarkable command of a variety of styles and is probably the only trumpeter-singer-songwriter you are likely to encounter.
Karen Sharp on saxophones is a busy freelance musician working with Alan Barnes and the Humphrey Lyttelton band.
"I kid you not, if you closed your eyes, you were listening to Chet Baker. A remarkable young woman" Richard Wheatly, Jazz FM
Wednesday February 10th Tickets £15 Georgia Mancio and Quadro
Quadro ( 'picture’ in Italian) is the new trio by award-winning vocalist Georgia Mancio and much lauded pianist Frank Harrison and bassist Andy Cleyndert. Together they present jazz and Brazilian standards alongside reinvented classical repertoire by composers including Strayhorn/ Ellington, Tom Jobim, Heitor Villa-Lobos & Artie Shaw among others.

Thursday February 11th Tickets £17.50 "Joni & I" - Joanna Eden & the magical music of Joni Mitchell
After a sell out show last year at St.James Studio, Joanna Eden “the UK’s answer to Diana Krall and Nora Jones” - Time Out, arrives at The Pheasantry with this celebration of the life and music of iconic US singer/song writer Joni Mitchell.
Starting as a finger-picking folkie and winding up as a jazz-savvy experimentalist, Joni Mitchell brought a sharp eye, light touch and an agile trill of a voice to her songs, which have often dissected her romances and skewered myopic governments.
Mitchell repeatedly and adamantly expressed no regrets about the rocky course she set. “I would do it all over again in a minute for the musical education.”
Friday February 12th Tickets £20 HOAGY - Chris Ingham presents the life and music of Hoagy Carmichael
Following last year's sell out success at St. James Studio and fresh from acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival, Chris Ingham and his quartet, entertains with an informative evening packed with more of the songs and stories of one of America’s most enduring and endearing songwriters Hoagy Carmichael.
The evening features more of the many well-loved hits - Stardust, How little we know, Lazy Bones, Skylark, Georgia on my mind, and more, as well as obscure nuggets and delightful curiosities form Hoagy’s rich and varied songbook. The London Evening Standard rates Chris Ingham as "One of Britain’s best singer-pianists... sophisticated tribute... charming work”
