In the early 90's, she was one half of the UK band, Shakespear's Sister. She co-wrote, and was vocally featured on, their song "Stay" which was number One for eight weeks in the UK charts, still holding the record for the longest running number one for a female band in the UK. It also went Gold in the US, selling over 500k copies. Since then, she has done a few solo albums:  "Jewel" on London Records in 1994;  "Feeler" on AAA Records/Total/BMG in 1996; "Dancing Madly Sideways" in 1999 on her own indie label [on iTunes]. She got back to her blues roots for new inspiration and did an indie Blues cd in 2005 called, "The Upside of Being Down".

In 2010, she appeared on a UK TV show called, "From Pop Star To Opera Star" where she was coached by world famous vocal coaches to learn to sing opera, competing against 7 other "pop stars" including Jimmy Osmond and many others, championing her way to the semi finals.

In 2012 she took it upon herself to produce and create a new album entitled The Vehicle, which was recorded, mixed and mastered in 16 days with one of the best renowned rhythm sections of all time: Mr. James Gadson on drums[Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Paul McCartney] and on bass, Mr. Reggie McBride [Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart].  The album was picked up by UK company, Right Recordings LTD in 2013, with worldwide distribution through Nova/Universal. Marcella went over to England to do two tours that year in support of the album.
