Mariah Carey to launch nail polish line with OPI

Newly confirmed American Idol judge Mariah Carey has teamed up with nail polish brand OPI to create her own line of coloured varnish.

Speaking about the exciting new collaboration, the 'Touch My Body' superstar explained that she spent time at beauty school so it's fantastic to finally be putting her knowledge and love of cosmetics to good use:

"I actually went to beauty school in 11th grade so I could have something to fall back on, so believe me, I've done my share of manicures as well as getting them. OPI knows that the polish you use makes a big difference not only in the look, but in the care of your nails and that's why I believe in the brand."

OPI's executive vice president and artistic director, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, added to Women's Wear Daily:

"Nails are part of her personality. I really have always looked for celebrities for whom nails are very important, and it is not something you just Photoshop on a picture. She was very much part of the colour selection."

The company is no stranger to celebrity collaborations as rapper Nicki Minaj unveiled an exclusive range in conjunction with them last year.
