Mariah Carey has laughed off rumours that she is already at loggerheads with new American Idol judge Nicki Minaj.

The reality TV show has undergone a number of personnel changes whilst it has been off air recently, with Carey, Minaj and country star Keith Urban all joining the show as judges.

Reports had emanated recently that the two female judges were already rubbing each other the wrong way despite the show being in its infancy.

Speaking to MTV News, Mariah Carey brushed off the speculation but didn't rule out the chance of disagreements in the future. She said:

"How are we gonna feud in two days? A feud takes a little longer to spread out."

The vocal star continued: "It's fun, it's music, it's singing, it's laughter."
