Mariah Carey makes first live appearance since shoulder injury

Mariah Carey has performed live for the first time since dislocating her shoulder, cracking a rib and chipping a shoulder bone on July 7.

The American singing star performed at a charity show in New York at Central Park's Great Lawn last night (July 13) in front of a crowd of 60,000.

The concert was held in association with Major League Baseball and benefits went towards relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

For her performance the ‘#Beautiful’ singer was joined by the New York Phil Harmonic.

Carey dressed up her wounded shoulder by wearing three custom-made arm slings including one covered in black feathers and anther encrusted with silver gems.

Carey had promised fans earlier in the week that despite her injury she would still be making an appearance at the benefit concert.

Mariah tweeted: “In a sling, but will do my best to make it look good w/ the ensemble Sat w/ the NY philharmonic, an amazing honor for such a great cause.”

She also gave a quick update prior her performance as she informed her followers: “Just about to take the stage with the NY Philharmonic, excited!!!"

Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon recently praised the way in which his wife dealt with her injuries by calling her “a trouper”.
