Mark Ronson sets another new streaming record as 'Uptown Funk' stays at No. 1

'Uptown Funk' by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars is enjoying it's third non-consecutive week at the top of the UK singles chart.

The funky track, taken from Ronson's forthcoming 'Uptown Special' album, has reached 156,000 sales this week and smashed it's own streaming record.

Last week, 'Uptown Funk' was streamed 2.49 million times - a new benchmark for the number of plays of a single song in seven days. This week, 'Uptown Funk' has received 2.56 million plays.

At No. 2 this week is a new entry from Philip George with his debut release 'Wish You Were Mine', which samples Stevie Wonder's 'My Cherie Amour'.

The rest of this week's top five is made up by Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud', a non-mover, at No. 3, Ben Haenow's 'Something I Need' is down two to No. 4, and Taylor Swift is down one with 'Blank Space' at No. 5.

Besides 'Wish You Were Mine' there is only one other new entry to this week's Top 40. New in at No. 35 is Kanye West featuring Paul McCartney with 'Only One' - a song written from the perspective of the rapper's late mother.
