Mark Ronson had 'panic attack' after Fleur East 'Uptown Funk' performance

Mark Ronson has admitted that he was left in a state of panic after seeing Fleur East perform his song 'Uptown Funk' on the X Factor.

The singer ran through the track on the show in December despite the Ronson song scheduled for a January release.

Her version was an instant hit on iTunes and this prompted Ronson's team to rush-release the original.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, the musician and producer revealed that he worried East would steal his thunder.

Ronson said: "We were going to perform it and, at the last minute, couldn't, and maybe that's why Simon [Cowell] said, 'We'll do the song anyway'. Maybe there's some blanket Illuminati agreement that goes on behind closed doors about all Sony stuff, but I have no idea...

"All of a sudden, you're, like, 'Is half of England going to discover this girl's version before ours?' It definitely took me by surprise and, basically, for a minute, I had a panic attack - and then it just turned out to be a good thing."

'Uptown Funk' - which features Bruno Mars - later reached No.1 and it topped the chart yet again on Sunday (January 4).
