Mark Ronson says 'Uptown Funk' was mistaken for Nile Rodgers track

Mark Ronson has revealed that his hit song 'Uptown Funk' has been mistaken for a Nile Rodgers track.

The producer, musician and DJ, released the tune in December and it sees him play some funky guitar lines.

Speaking to the Guardian, Ronson said that he originally showed the song to his stepfather - Mick Jones from rock band Foreigner.

However, he actually thought the track was a tune by disco legend Nile Rodgers. Ronson admitted:

"He said, 'Oh, that's good, is that Nile Rodgers?'

"That's what I've done. I've made something so good that people don't actually think it's me."

'Uptown Funk' will feature on Ronson's upcoming album 'Uptown Special', which will be released in the UK on January 25.
