Following his debut afrobeat single Desire with Bella Shmurda, August.III continues his afrobeat flavour with new drop, Takeover.

Guitar-heavy Takeover combines thumping base drum and percussion to encapsulate both the flavour of August.III and afrobeats.

The track combines summer vibes with the ‘feeling and ambition to take over’, hence the name. A track made for the summer, it’s a perfect follow-up to Desire.

From RnB to trap to afrobeats, August.III blends his African and British heritage to create a unique, global sound that’s hard to pigeon-hole into a single genre.

Following his debut drop Paaji – an afrobashment banger with an Indian twist – which landed to huge reception, with a video featuring dance influencer LavBBE (3m Tiktok followers) – August.III dropped Paaji remix featuring none other than Dancehall King Beenie Man.

Mid-2021, August.III dropped his first EP – Hospital Talk – with lead single Limitless. The EP covered his recovery from serious health complications, his drive to succeed and his ambitions for success.

August.III has had some impressive collaborations alongside his drop with Beenie Man, including summertime jam Desire featuring afrobeats star Bella Shmurda. Early in his career, he also dropped Special Lady with Brit MC Paigey Cakey.

Whether through his songwriting, fashion or art, it’s clear that August.III is a unique creative, driving a new wave of music.
