Bella Vine just released her powerful new track ‘Resilience’ on Wednesday 5th of January 2022. With her previous single garnering the attention of Wonderland and Fame Magazine as well as featuring on BBC Introducing as ‘Track Of The Day’ in Sussex & Surrey. ‘Resilience’ features co-writing, mixing and mastering from Ian Barter who is known for his work with Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith and many more huge names. Bella claims ‘Resilience’ to be one of the strongest characteristics a person can have and states the song is her most relatable track to date.

The story behind ‘Resilience’ comes primarily from Bella’s childhood as she recalls listening to Kelly Clarkson’s, ‘What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger’, a song that resonates with her to this day. The themes of bouncing back when faced with problems in life are something she has carried with her throughout growing up, even claiming that she would “Roll the lyrics through my head any time I need a little oomph”. Now as an adult, her surrounding peers are faced with the general challenges of adult life however Bella will always be armed with her ‘Plough Ahead’ attitude.

‘Resilience’ also strikes a chord with the current conversations of mindfulness within today’s culture, rather than bottling emotions up, Bella Vine talks of being able to lean on one another and rely on each other when things get tough, especially friends and loved ones. The track comes with her biggest music video to date which features the theatrical settings of a huge estate in the British countryside and was graded at the well-renowned Pinewood Studios. Tristan Bejawn, director of photography for the stunning shoot has also worked with Taylor Swift on a previous video. Through beautiful green hues, the video lends itself to the mysterious nature of the track twinned with underwater shots of Bella rising from the deep and breaking through the surface, resembling the overall narrative of ‘Resilience’. Sonically, the track features striped back slow-paced drums with a flurry of building melodies and synth lines, Bella’s soft voice is carried through a cleverly distorted effect making for a haunting chorus that sticks with the listener.

With current influences such as Dua Lipa, Charlie XCX and Tove Lo the success of Bella Vine’s previous singles make it clear ‘Resilience’ has the potential to push her career further, with its well thought out lyricism and interesting storyline. With more music and upcoming gigs in the pipeline for next year, be sure to keep an eye on her socials for more information.
