Kuti Lego releases new Afrobeat single ‘Melody’ on the 11th of March 2022. The Nigerian musician keeps it in the family in his new track with older brother TMVIBES producing the single. ‘Melody’ was mixed and mastered by Leandro Hidalgo who is best known for mixing Wizkid’s album ‘Made In Lagos’ which recieved huge international success, as well as working with the likes of Skepta, Dave and Khalid.

Growing up in Delta State in Southern Nigeria, Kuti Lego never had many friends but found solace in music, starting to play and write songs from a young age. The songwriter now finds himself with a few great releases under his belt, some of which feature the likes of Zlatan Ibile and Slimcase and one of the singles ‘Kill Them With The Win’ has now almost reached 100k streams on Spotify.

The new single ‘Melody’ follows themes of love and loss and features a catchy melodic hook, working from his imagination Kuti Lego claims that when the beat is right his inspiration flows like magic. The fizzing drums and husky vocals make for a creative approach to the genre's standard formula. Kuti claims “I do feel connected to sounds and I am very happy when I am in the studio having a session with a live band or any musical association; it's like the other part of my life is on mute.” The release comes complete with a vibrant video filmed in Lagos, directed by TG Omori who has worked on video’s with the likes of Wizkid, Burna Boy & Olamide. The polished piece perfectly captures the vibe of the track, summing up past romances and memories from previous relationships.

Kuti Lego has had continual releases since his EP 5 years ago with his main influences being Popcaan and Innocent idibi. Kuti states “I just want to bless the world with my Melodies. I feel like I do have too much to give. ‘Melody’ is the sound of the song, it’s the food of my soul”. Be sure to follow Kuti Lego on socials for more information about his future releases.
