Lindi Ortega announces Sugar Club show 

Alt. country sensation Lindi Ortega returns to Dublin in the new year for a date at The Sugar Club on Saturday 4th February.

Tickets €13.00 inclusive of booking fee are on sale this Wednesday, December 7 from Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie.

Lindi Ortega release her four track EP, The Drifter, in 2009 on Interscope/Cherry Tree records which was met to critical acclaim with Toronto’s ‘Eye Weekly’ giving it a glowing four star review and called it “The perfect EP” and “A terrific teaser”. No stranger to the stage, Lindi has toured across Canada and the US performing for all kinds of audiences. She opened for Keane on their North American tour as well as performing with Kevin Costner and his band The Modern West on their Midwest US tour. In addition to that you can find Lindi’s delicious vocals as backup singer on Brandon Flowers recent solo efforts.

Already proclaimed “one of the most important new artists of the year” by The SF Examiner, Lindi Ortega completed the recording of ther debut full length album earlier this year and made her headline debut Upstairs in Whelan’s. With her arresting vocals and unique brand of alt country, a genre she describes as “a roadside motel love affair between old school outlaws and country darlings”. The record is a collection of songs that aims to speak to the desperado in all of us. Be sure to keep an ear out for that sweet vibrato and an eye out for those little red boots because it won’t be long before Canada boasts of a brand new country darling. It’s rather obvious from her appearance that Miss Ortega, with her ruby lips and Mexican/Irish background, is the kind of gal that would stand out in a crowd, but she prefers to be standing in front of one.
