FRANZ FERDINAND ANNOUNCE THREE INTIMATE IRISH SUMMER SHOWS THIS SUMMER

With their fourth studio album due for release this year Franz Ferdinand have announced a whistlestop Irish tour of intimate venues this summer previewing the new material amongst their extensive collection of hits. The Scottish band will play three dates in May at the following venues:

 

Friday 18 May                  GALWAY, Roisin Dubh
Saturday 19 May               LIMERICK, Dolan’s
Sunday 20 May                 CORK, The Pavilion

 

Tickets for each show are priced from €30.00 and on sale this Friday 30 March from Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie

Since their formation in 2002 Glaswegians Alex, Bob, Nick and Paul have been one of the stand out live acts of their generation. Franz Ferdinand’s self titled debut album, containing the hit singles Take Me OutThe Dark of the Matinée and This Fire, won the 2004 Mercury Music Prize. The band followed this up with two BRIT awards and an NME award for Album of the Year. The following year the bands sophomore album You Could Have it So Much Better topped the UK album charts and was a top ten hit on the Billboard 200 in the US. Franz Ferdinand’s third record Tonight: Franz Ferdinand had even more success in the US reaching #9 on the Billboard charts.
