Her continued success following the release of ‘Heaven Knows’ saw Mica play two massive album launch shows in September, with a sold out show at the capital’s prestigious Jazz Café followed by a special hometown performance filling out the iconic Albert Hall in Manchester, from which she shares a live performance of her single ‘Will I See You Again’ to celebrate. Earlier this year Mica celebrated a huge win at Jazz FM Awards 2022, securing the prestigious award for ‘Soul Act of the Year’ whose recipients of former years include Philip Bailey, Jon Batiste, Jill Scott, Moonchild and Poppy Ajudha. Riding high on her win, Mica soon after performed at Jazz Voice, the opening gala of the EFG London Jazz Festival. The Royal Festival Hall event saw both the highly esteemed and “new voices" of the Jazz scene performing together with backing from the 42-piece Festival Orchestra of leading London session players. Since 2008 over 60 vocalists have taken part in Jazz Voice, including Seal, Paloma Faith, Jamie Cullum, Boy George and Corinne Bailey Rae. The show was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 plus a TV special aired on BBC 4. Mica’s debut album ‘Heaven Knows’ achieved widespread acclaim this summer, including a plethora of national radio support from the likes of Trevor Nelson at BBC Radio 2 and a slot on Clive Anderson’s ‘Loose Ends’ on BBC Radio 4.
