Melanie C says social media can be a "dangerous thing"

Spice Girl Melanie C has revealed that she is wary of social media because it can be a "dangerous thing"

She told Closer magazine that being a parent to daughter Scarlet has caused her to be cautious about the things she exposes her to and thinks that websites such as Twitter and Facebook definitely have a darker side:

"My mum let me do everything I wanted so I would support Scarlet, but I would air my concerns. I'll keep her away from social media for as long as possible because it worries me. I think it's a dangerous thing."

Earlier this month, the singer admitted that she was relieved to have pulled out of Spice Girls reunion plans and gave her reasons why: "It was a really hard decision to make. But once it was made I felt very relieved and that proved to me that my instinct was right. There's always an ebb and flow to how much we stay in touch. We have spells of seeing each other and then not speaking for months. Family life and career takes over."
