Mel C to tackle African river for charity trip

Melanie C will spend five days in the wild as part of a Comic Relief fundraising initiative.

The singer will travel 68 miles down the Zambezi river in Africa to raise money for Red Nose Day, which is taking place on March 15.

She will be joined by actress Chelsee Healey, comedian Jack Dee, Dara O Briain and DJ Greg James as the group of celebrities endure wild animals and unpredictable water.

Speaking about the trip, the Spice Girls star said:

"It's going to be tough. It's going to be physically and emotionally demanding, but we've all got each other and hopefully we'll be able to get through it."

The BT Red Nose Challenge: Hell And High Water trip is expected to raise a massive £1 million.
