Mel C reveals "terrifying" charity ordeal

Spice Girls star Mel C "couldn't let dying cross [her] mind" when she fell into a crocodile-infested river during her dangerous Comic Relief adventure.

The British singer paddled the famous Zambezi River in Africa in order to raise money for the UK's popular charity this week.

Mel has described the moment her kayak capsized, revealing to The Mirror: "It was really scary. It was probably the most terrifying situation I’ve ever experienced. But I couldn’t let dying cross my mind. In moments like that you have to be positive that you’ll survive. A hundred things went through my mind and the realisation of the danger we were in hit me.”

Mel was joined on the charity challenge by a host of celebrities including comics Jack Dee and Dara O Briain.

The group finished their five-day trip yesterday after completing a 68-mile stretch of the river.

Mel took to her Twitter page today to gush about the achievement: "WE DID IT!!!!! Thank you for all the incredible support. Keep donating at http://www.rednoseday.com/zambezi (sic)."
