Mel C defends Matt Cardle over X Factor snub: "It's really f**king rude"

Mel C has voiced her anger over Matt Cardle being left out of a promotional video for the latest series of the X Factor.

Matt Cardle – who won the the seveneth season of the talent show in 2010 ahead of Cher Lloyd and One Direction – was not included in an “ultimate X Factor mash up” film clip which pieces together footage of previous contestants.

The video will form a 60-second television advert for the upcoming tenth series of the ITV programme.

Acts that are featured in the ad include Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, Cher Lloyd, One Direction, Alexandra Burke, Little Mix, JLS, James Arthur, Joe McElderry, Amelia Lily and Union J.

Ex-Spice Girl Mel C, who has recently collaborated with Matt Cardle, has given her opinion on Cardle’s exclusion in an interview with the Sunday People.

Chisholm asserted: “I think it's really f**king rude the way they have left him out. He was such a great winner and he's gone on to do brilliant things. Matt's possibly one of the best winners on the show.”

She went on to argue: “With the musicality and the talent, he has longevity ahead. And let's face it, that doesn't fall into the life of many X Factor winners.”

Mel C’s outburst comes after Matt Cardle’s manager, Will Talbot, stated that he believes Syco (Simon Cowell and Sony’s joint music production and marketing venture) is trying to erase Cardle from the X Factor history books.
