Spice Girls superstar Mel C has announced that she will be performing a one-off concert in the new year to celebrate her 40th birthday. 

The beauty is confirmed to put on a gig at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London on January 11 and took to her official Twitter page to share the exciting news: 

"So I'm playing Shepherd's Bush Empire 11th Jan 2014 to celebrate my 40th! Who's coming?"

Tickets for the stand alone concert are due to go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 27 at 9am and revealed on her social networking page that she is "so excited" for the event. 

Back in the summer, she admitted that she was looking forward to enjoying a little reunion with her Spice Girls bandmates because it's not often that they all find the time to get together: "Vic and I are planning a girl's night with the other Spice Girls. It's rare for us to all get together, so I'm very excited. When we do find time to catch up, we're like normal girlfriends who love a b****ing session and a glass of red wine."
