Jake Bugg new video - Taste It!
Taste It EP out 13th August through Mercury Records
Taste It is the new EP from Jake Bugg, the eighteen year old Nottingham-born troubadour who is emerging as one of the most original voices of the last 12 months. Armed with a guitar and the songwriting chops of someone older and wiser, his sharp lyrics illustrate his brilliant two to three minute vignettes about growing up, city life and beyond. A world away from his contemporaries who deal in beats and mics, his is a more old fashioned approach but no less fresh or thrilling. It’s a modern twist on classic songwriting. He is constantly learning, constantly evolving, and with ‘Taste It’ you can see the constant forward motion in his writing.
From debut single ‘Trouble Town’ Jake Bugg’s reputation has spread through word of mouth, testifying that he is a special act, a once-a-year artist who crosses authenticity with mainstream appeal effortlessly. From appearing on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury last year, Jake has had brilliant support from Radio 1. His most recent single ‘Lightning Bolt’ picked up an unprecedented four Record Of The Weeks from Zane Lowe, Fearne Cotton, Greg James and Huw Stephens, whilst Zane Lowe has made Jake Hottest record In The World twice now following his first play of ‘Taste it’ recently. At 6 Music Steve Lamacq has championed Jake from the start. Strong support has also come from NME, The Observer, i-D, The Fly, Clash, Notion and more.
