LUKE JAMES – NEW FACE FOR THIS SEASON’S SEAN JOHN CLOTHING LINE CAMPAIGN

MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH FOR NEW ORLEANS SONGWRITER AND SINGER, WHOSE CREDITS INCLUDE TRACKS WITH JUSTIN BIEBER, CHRIS BROWN, BRITNEY SPEARS, ESTELLE, AND OTHERS !

N.A.R.S./Mercury/Island Def Jam artist, Luke James grabbed the brass ring with the recent announcement that his debut single as a solo artist, "I Want You" has garnered a Grammy Award® nomination for Best R&B Performance. "I Want You" is the first track from Luke's upcoming debut album, MADE TO LOVE, release details to be announced in the weeks ahead.

"I Want You," written by New Orleans-born songwriter and vocalist extraordinaire Luke James and Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter Nasri Atweh (credits: Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Pitbull), marks Luke's first release.

Luke's new single/video "Make Love To Me," is written by three-time Grammy Award®-winning Motown Records artist/executive Ne-Yo, and produced by Non-Classical Producer of the Year Grammy nominee, Salaam Remi (credits: Amy Winehouse, Nas, Alicia Keys). Luke appeared on BET's 106 and Park last Thursday, to premiere the new single/video. Last week, Luke captivated the audience goers with a soulful performance at New York City's legendary venue, SOBs, which was broadcasted worldwide on Livestream.com. 2013 is looking bright for Luke James, as he is currently the new face for this season’s Sean Johnclothing line campaign, and just delivered his free pre-album release EP, Whispers In The Dark on December 12th.

The Grammy Award® nomination for "I Want You" follows up Luke's nomination as Best New Artist at Centric's Soul Train Awards 2012, aired Thanksgiving weekend.  Earlier this year at the 2012 BET Honors, Luke received a standing ovation after his performance for First Lady Michelle Obama and music industry elites.  Luke was also a member of BET's "Music Matters" campaign, and joined Estelle (with whom he has recorded) on BET's "Music Matters" tour.  Luke also opened 2012 tours for Robin Thicke and for Kelly Rowland; and opened for Beyoncé on her "Back To Business" performance weekend earlier this year in Atlantic City, after being featured in her 2011 video for "Run the World (Girls)."

Luke James has also amassed an impressive list of writing credits, including tracks with Justin Bieber ("That Should Be Me"), Chris Brown ("Crawl"), and Britney Spears ("Kill The Lights"), as well as Keri Hilson, Brandy, and others.  Luke worked with producers Kadis and Sean and the Messengers; and co-wrote and recorded "Easy" with Estelle as a duet track

Born and raised in New Orleans by a single mom, Luke's breakthrough arrived after high school, when he moved to Los Angeles and began singing background for R&B singer Tyrese.  He soon met production duo the Underdogs and signed with them as one-half of the vocal duo Luke & Q.  When the pair went their separate ways, Luke began honing his skills as a songwriter, eventually hooking up with producer Danja in 2008.
