M.I.A. dedicates unreleased demo to Amy WinehouseM.I.A. has released a previously unheard demo that she has named '27' and dedicated it to the late Amy Winehouse, who died suddenly on Saturday, July 23. The star wrote on her Twitter account yesterday, July 24, that she recorded the track before her 'Vickileekx' mixtape was unveiled although it never made the final cut so had been unheard until now: "I recorded this song B4 vickileekx and never put it out. its a unfinished demohttp://soundcloud.com/m_i_a-1/27-1 R.I.P A.M.Y." The song's lyrics eerily echo the tragedy of Winehouse's life, and include both the lines "all rock stars go to heaven/you said you'll be dead at 27" and "I took you to the clinic to get you clean, but you couldn't".
