Miley Cyrus has proclaimed that singing a duet with Madonna was "f***ing cool".

The two US acts performed together for the former's MTV Unplugged special, which will air in the States tonight (January 29).

They ran through a mash-up of Madonna's 'Don't Tell Me' and Cyrus's hit single 'We Can't Stop'.

Speaking to the music company about the blockbuster duet, Cyrus said:

"That was pretty f***ing cool you guys. It was one of those days that was pretty easy to get out of bed. I get to perform with Madonna in bedazzled cowboy boots. I can't really complain about anything."

The 'Bangerz' star meanwhile thanked MTV for allowing her to perform on the iconic Unplugged series, saying:

"I can't believe you let me of all people do an Unplugged. That was brave."
