Miley Cyrus on beauty standards: 'Now I'm older I just can't accept them - I learned that less is more'

Pop sensation Miley Cyrus has revealed that if she could give her sixteen-year-old self advice she would tell herself to stop overdoing it with the cosmetics and to stop trying to look or act older.

During an interview with Popsugar to promote her new MAC Viva Glam campaign, the superstar opened up about the beauty standards women believe they're supposed to live up to and confessed that she simply doesn't want to conform:

"Oh my goodness. What I'd even give to sixteen year olds today is that less is more - just chill. When you're younger you try to make yourself look older and everyone tells you that when you're older you'll regret it. I wear less make-up now at 22 than I did when I was 15 or 16 [...] I warn girls about Instagram, they're following things that aren't reality."

"I think of the formula of what's supposed to be pretty and what a woman is meant to look like, and now I'm older I'm like, 'forget that'! I don't want to be like that."
