Miley Cyrus has celebrated hosting the MTV VMAs by surprise releasing a new album.

The singer capped off her presenting slot on Sunday (August 30) by uploading a 23-track record to Soundcloud.

The album, which can be accessed via Cyrus' official website, is entitled 'Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz'.

Many of the songs have been co-written or produced by The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne.

Among the guests on the album are Big Sean, Ariel Pink and Phantogram's Sarah Barthel.

Two tracks - 'Twinkle Song' and 'Pablow the Blowfish' - were penned by Cyrus.
