Miley Cyrus made a surprise appearance on last night's (April 27) episode of American Idol to give finalist, Lauren Alaina, some girl-to-girl advice. 

16-year-old Alaina, who first wowed the judges with her flawless rendition of Aerosmith's 'I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing', is now in the top 6 and Interscope's head honcho Jimmy Iovine organised the special mentoring session with her idol, Cyrus, to keep her motivated.

Alaina said:

"About halfway through my meeting with Jimmy, he had a big surprise for me,"

"Miley Cyrus walks in. I was like [jaw drops open] ... she was so nice and she gave me such great advice."

The young star in the making was clearly over the moon by the meeting, and tweeted: "Today has been amazing! I got to meet @MileyCyrus and she was so classy and genuine(: thanks for all of the advice miley(:"
