Can Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” Claim the UK No. 1 Single?

English singer RAYE’s path to reclaiming the top of the Official Singles Chart in the UK this week is becoming a little more challenging. While Escapism. seems on track to return to Number 1, Miley Cyrus is also coming in hot with her comeback single, “Flowers”.

Cyrus has her sights set on this week’s highest new entry at No. 2, but can she also go all the way and beat RAYE to the top spot?

With production from Tyler Johnson and Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles’ go-to collaborators for his solo material) and a catchy new music video which sees Cyrus learning to recover from a broken heart and love herself again, it looks possible.

The “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker was last in the UK Top 10 in 2020 with two singles from her album, Plastic Hearts; “Midnight Sky” at No. 5 and her Dua Lipa collaboration “Prisoner” at No. 8, but this week could well see Cyrus’ return.

Her 2013 LP Bangerz contained two UK Number 1 singles, “We Can't Stop” and “Wrecking Ball”, and gained the singer-songwriter and actress her first Number 1 album in the UK too.

Since Bangerz, Cyrus has veered from country (Younger Now) to disco-rock (Plastic Hearts) and collaborated with the likes of Dolly Parton, Stevie Nicks, Snoop Dogg, Kid LaroiI, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Lana Del Rey and more.

Listen/share “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus here now.
