Miley Cyrus explains decision to turn down The X-Factor USA

Miley Cyrus has explained her decision to turn down a judging role on The X-Factor USA.

The former Disney star, who was approached by Simon Cowell for a position on the second series of the talent show, says she wouldn't feel comfortable with hurting contestants' feelings:

“I just don’t know if I want to be some dream crusher.

“Would you really want to sit there as someone is belting their heart out – even if it is like hearing nails on a chalkboard – and then say to them, ‘You suck’?”

The 20-year-old, who recently revealed plans for a 'sick' new album, went on to add:

“I have no filter, so I would be scared I would say something and they would go home and say, ‘Miley Cyrus ruined my dreams’. It seems harsh.”
