Miley Cyrus has stated that her image change is simply down to her maturing.

The singer turned heads last year after chopping her hair short and ditching her image that was long associated with her Hannah Montana days.

Her recent video for single 'We Can't Stop' meanwhile saw the US star go raunchy as she posed provocatively in front of the camera.

In a recent interview, Cyrus said, however, that her new self is purely down to personal evolution and maturation. She said:

"I think people forget what it feels like to be 20. People just evolve and that's all that's happened to me. But people think a mad scientist somehow cooked up this potion and turned me in to a different human, which it wasn't. All I did was get a haircut and buy some clothes and everyone thinks that I am made into a robot that changes with what's popular every 10 years."

As previously reported, the video for 'We Can't Stop' meanwhile has become the quickest promo clip to reach 100m views on VEVO, hitting the target in only 37 days.
