'Wrecking Ball' songwriter defends Miley Cyrus over video nudity and hits back at critics

Songstress Miley Cyrus recently debuted the music video for her new single 'Wrecking Ball' and the track's songwriter has now hit out at the criticism it has received as a result of the star's nudity in it.

MoZella, whose real name is Maureen Anne McDonald, co-wrote the song and took to her official Twitter page last night to defend Cyrus and the artistic direction she took with the bold video: "I'm just going to throw it out there. Maybe nudity is the representation of feeling emotionally stripped & vulnerable. And maybe she is kissing the sledgehammer because we all secretly love the pain."

Meanwhile, MTV are set to unveil a documentary about Cyrus later this autumn called 'Miley: The Movement' and it will debut on October 2, just before her new album 'Bangerz' is released on October 7.

Speaking about the documentary, Cyrus explained: "I want all my fans to come with me; to the studio, on the road, at performances. There's going to be a lot of ups and downs, and it's going to be completely insane. You've gotta be a part of the movement with me."
