Miley Cyrus has turned heads by uploading an image of herself twerking whilst a monkey dressed as a cowboy sits on her back.

The singer is no stranger to controversy following a number of raunchy public shows and the Twitter photo seems to follow suit.

The picture shows Cyrus on all fours wearing little clothing and a provocative smile on her face whilst a monkey on a leash sits on her back wearing a cowboy hat and shirt.

She said: "Imma make a Tumblr. Just to post more pixxxx like this. #vegas @vij_photo #twerkinwithadayummonkeyonmyback."

The singer then posted a photo which sees the US star with her legs around a person in a red furry costume.

Cyrus meanwhile is due to unleash her new album 'Bangerz' on October 7 in the UK and a day later in the US.
