Miley Cyrus on critics: 'I don't feel as though I have to compete with other pop stars'

'We Can't Stop' sensation Miley Cyrus has revealed that she doesn't pay attention to people who send her negativity because she doesn't feel as if she needs to compete with her contemporaries.

Speaking to Fashion magazine in a brand new interview, the beauty confessed that she hasn't got time for critics and is happy to do her own thing in the industry:

"I feel like I'm in a different lane now. When it comes to critics, I have my blinders on and I don't really feel like I have to compete with other pop artists."

Cyrus added that she believes music is really "stale" at the moment and admitted that she's pleased her MTV VMAs performance was so 'out there' because it shook things up a little:

"I'm proud of that performance. I feel like music is really stale right now. I could have guessed what a lot of artists would have done that night."
