Miley Cyrus scores double UK No.1 positions with new album and single

American beauty Miley Cyrus is on course for a very special chart victory in the UK with her new album 'Bangerz' and current single, 'Wrecking Ball'.

The midweek updates have shown that both offerings are at No.1, which means that if she remains at the top spot on both the singles and albums charts until the positions are confirmed on Sunday (October 13), she will score double No.1s and will also be the first artist of 2013 to achieve this impressive feat.

'Wrecking Ball' is 18,000 copies ahead of Eminem's 'Bezerk', which has entered at No.2, and 'Bangerz' is steaming ahead of its closest competitors, namely Chase & Status with their new album 'Brand New Machine' at No.2 and Haim's 'Days Are Gone' at No.3.

Elsewhere on the UK Top 40 singles chart, Conor Maynard has landed a solid new entry at No.3 with 'R U Crazy', The Saturdays have debuted at 4 with 'Disco Love', and Justin Bieber's 'Heartbreaker' has made an appearance at No.8.

The albums chart sees 'X Factor' contestant Lucy Spraggan enjoy a Top 10 entry at No.6 with 'Join The Club', Panic! At The Disco have entered at No.8 with 'Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die', and Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip have shot in at 14 with their third collaborative album, entitled 'Repent Replenish Repeat'.
