Miley Cyrus’ birthday celebrations may have been dampened after her home was broken into the day before she turned 21.

Miley – who celebrated her 21st birthday on 23 November – suffered intruders breaking into her Californian home on Friday (22 November).

Police have refused to name the ‘We Can’t Stop’ star as the victim of a burglary but the address listed is a property belonging to the now 21-year-old pop singer.

Early reports from the scene suggest that there were no signs of forced entry and no intruders were spotted on site, but the homeowner informed the authorities that a number of personal items had been taken.

The ‘Wrecking Ball’ vocalist has previously spoken about how much of a homebody she is, having stated in a radio interview:

“I never leave my house, that's the only place I've been where I don't have to deal with people, or the studio”.

Miley Cyrus is set to perform at the American Music Awards later on today (24 November).
